ALTERNATIVES FOR COMMUNITY AND ENVIROMENT INC
Mission Statement
ACE’s mission is to build the power of communities of color and low-income communities in Massachusetts to eradicate environmental racism and classism, create healthy, sustainable communities, and achieve environmental justice. ACE was founded in 1993 as an advocacy and activist-based environmental justice organization and became a base-building membership organization in 2005. For 25 years ACE has employed a unique community organizing model that brings together hundreds of families and communities, develops their leadership and critical analysis skills and links them to legal and technical assistance so that they may take a more active role in the decisions that affect their neighborhoods. Our programming includes a Youth Organizing program (Roxbury Environmental Empowerment Project), Transit advocacy program (T Riders Union), a Dudley Square-focused community development organizing program and a Legal program.
