REVEREND LINNETTE C WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL PARK ASSOCIATION
Mission Statement
Together with the VISTA program (Volunteers In Service To America a.k.a. the domestic "Peace Corps" program), our nonsectarian, nonprofit organization was founded by Harlem residents in 1994 as one of the few inner-city, urban land trusts in New York City and the United States. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children, families and senior citizens in Harlem. We use the four public, open spaces we created and now steward as “village greens” to help repair the social fabric of our neighborhood by providing essential services including our Art and the Gardens Summer Youth Enrichment Program.
