Mission Statement

The Central Valley Vietnam Veterans Club was established in 2007 by nine disabled Vietnam Veterans who were in therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The veterans came to the conclusion, not only could they help veterans of all stripes through their new club, they could make their community a better place for veterans and their children by sponsoring a series of fund raising events along with events designed to promote veteran awareness within the community. Article1 of our By-Laws says in part: "This club shall be known as the Central Valley Vietnam Veterans Club. Its purpose and objectives are to promote and encourage the welfare of all Vietnam Veterans, and to promote their social, recreational, physical and moral welfare" Our events were designed to be non-threatening, inclusive, and veteran friendly. While veteran issues and the wellness of veterans, both physically and mentally, are a large focus of our efforts we remain committed to local youth in our community. We feel they need our nurturing support and our oral histories to help them become well informed, well rounded Americans. As a club we have many fundraisers throughout the years which raise money for various children's organizations. We have established fund raisers for Valley Children's Hospital Camp Sunshine Dreams, a summer camp for children with leukemia; Royal Family Camp for abused children; local deployed military families, the Central Valley Cadet program and the Claude Meitzenheimer Annual Easter Egg Hunt for lower socio-economical youth in our community. The Central Valley Vietnam Veterans Club is the most active veteran's organization in the area and has grown from that small beginning of nine concerned Vietnam Veteran's to over seventy-two dedicated members in short order. Vietnam Era Veteran's are flocking to this inclusive, community active, 501C-19 life enhancing veteran organization,
