Mission Statement

Garfield Volunteer Fire Company - Truck 4 is the City of Garfield’s sole ladder truck. We respond to calls at all hours, whether it be in the middle of the night, during the height of a blizzard, or just as we’re sitting down with our families for a holiday meal. We are all volunteers, devoted to helping our friends and neighbors. Although the firehouse, fire truck and firefighting equipment are provided by the City, we have other expenses such as firehouse furnishings, meetings, training and drills. We also sponsor a Garfield High School graduate scholarship and Fire Prevention Week programs to help educate our school children, and also support civic and youth organizations. Funding for this is provided by donations and fund raising.
