ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE IN EVERGLADESINC
Mission Statement
Artists in Residence in Everglades, Inc. (AIRIE)'s mission is to support and enhance the arts and cultural heritage of the Everglades subtropical wilderness through artist residency and public outreach programs. By informing, connecting and supporting artists, writers, musicians, composers and choreographers with a one-month live/work residency in Everglades National Park, artists engage with scientists, park rangers and educators to enhance their experience and understanding of this subtropical wilderness. AIRIE brings the arts together with science and enivironmentalism through free, year-round exhibitions at its AIRIE Nest Gallery, the only contemporary exhibition space in a national park, along with ongoing public outreach programs that include performances, workshops, discussions and guided tours.
