CANINE GUARDIANS ASSISTANCE DOGS
Mission Statement
At Canine Guardians our mission is to provide trained service dogs to assist and enrich the daily lives of disabled veterans, veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), diabetics, children with cancer and children with reading difficulties. Our dogs are "purpose-bred. Our "purpose-bred" dogs are bred specially for their temperament and health. Canine Guardians does not train rescued or shelter dogs, as few are fit for the service-dog program, whether because of their difficult temperament or poor health. It takes a lot of time, energy, and cost to train a service dog. We appreciate our donors' financial support and invest in dogs fit for success in this service; rescue dogs more than likely won't succeed, or at best, would take a great deal more to train properly. In this case, clients waiting for a dog would have to wait significantly longer
