Mission Statement

Tri-County Citizens’ Advisory Board The Citizens Advisory Board is comprised of concerned citizens and business leaders in the community, whose primary purpose is to support, advise and assist offenders re-entering law-abiding society. The CAB supports the development and implementation of programs related to community based offender supervision, while promoting community understanding and involvement. This is a volunteer board with no paid staff members. How Does the Board Offer Assistance? The individuals served by the CAB are on probation and/or parole and are often those found in homeless shelters. Society does not provide the same resources to this group of individuals. The social impact of this is that they may return to criminal activities because they believe it is the only way for them to provide the basic daily needs. Through loans and grants the CAB provides assistance with the following: chemical dependency evaluations and treatment, housing, utility assistance, medical assistance (including medication), psychological evaluations, and transportation costs to treatment. These services help ensure that offenders become productive in the community which strengthens public safety for all Missourians. How Does the CAB Raise Capital? The CAB raises funds through government grants, private donations (both corporate and individual), and fundraising events. For the Community One of the goals of board members is to educate judges, the legal community, and legislatures about programs and treatment projects. The speakers bureau informs community service groups and the public about the goals and successes of the programs. The CAB seeks community involvement to effect a positive change in offender behavior.
