Mission Statement

Elizabeth’s Village, formerly known as Scott County Hospitality House, began with a dream to serve the homeless population in Georgetown, KY. Stacey Cruse and Scott Coburn noticed the prevalence of homelessness in Scott County Schools, and that many individuals were sleeping in cars, local motels, or were “couch surfing” with friends or family members. With the belief that everyone deserves a stable home – not a car, camper, or relative’s couch, Stacey and Scott started on the journey of creating an organization that would serve homeless individuals in Scott County. On December 10, 2009, the Board of Directors for Scott United Ministries voted to approve Scott County Hospitality House, and accepted it under its umbrella, giving it not-for-profit status. The Scott County Hospitality House began providing emergency shelter in hotels, as well as providing case management for individuals and families. Scott County Hospitality house eventually came outside of the umbrella and received its own 501(c)3 status in 2013. With a passion to better serve homeless women and children in Scott County, in January 2013 the Scott County Hospitality House opened a transitional home for women and children. In 2015, Scott County Hospitality house chose to focus on long-term, transitional housing, and began only providing emergency shelter in winter months. In February 2024, Tyler Brooker became the new Executive Director of Scott County Hospitality House/Elizabeth’s Village and has worked diligently to improve its programs and to form new community partnerships. Scott County Hospitality House voted to change its name to Elizabeth’s Village to better illustrate our organization’s desire and commitment to serve women and children in need in Scott County. Elizabeth’s Village is growing and working to address unmet needs in the Scott County/Georgetown community.
