Mission Statement

My youngest child was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy ("DMD") when he was five years old. As a result, I founded the Little Hercules Foundation to fund research in the hopes of finding a cure and/or treatment for him and all boys with DMD. DMD is the leading genetic killer of children, and occurs in approximately 1 in 3,500 live male births. Boys start showing muscle weakness around the age of 3-6, and are normally in a wheelchair by the age of 10-12. This disease robs our boys of the ability to run, jump, climb, play sports, and eventually compromises heart and lung function. Most boys with DMD do not live past their early 20s. DMD IS 100% FATAL.
