EAST FORT WORTH COMMUNITY JAZZ BAND
Mission Statement
The East Fort Worth Community Jazz Band (EFWCJB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is currently in their 11th season. EFWCJB was formed in 2014 to provide a venue for young and seasoned musicians to improve their musical talents and provide music for the community. The EFWCJB players, although not professional musicians, are composed of accomplished musicians who have played all their lives and others who have rediscovered their instruments after years of gathering dust. Many members work as accountants, teachers, engineers, and some are college and high school students. The mission of the EFWCJB is to perform throughout the Fort Worth (FW) communities and encourage musicians to join the jazz band as an outlet for community service and to raise funds for high school scholarships. During the last ten years, this organization has performed over a hundred concerts in the community and has donated $35,000 in scholarships.
