EDUCATE TOMORROW CORP
Mission Statement
Educate Tomorrow’s mission is to create independence for disadvantaged and foster youth through education, mentoring and life skills training. Educate Tomorrow believes that all children, regardless of whether they were raised by a parent, relative, or the state, should have equal access to and encouragement to pursue higher education. Educate Tomorrow began as a traditional mentoring program, with mentors assisting foster youth to pursue their college dreams by providing assistance in accessing the tuition waiver and living stipend that Florida provides. For children transitioning out of the foster care system, access to information and support can be a tangled path through myriad levels of bureaucracy. Transitioning youth often become legal adults without having first gained the basic life, social and emotional skills that most young adults learn from their families. Thus, Educate Tomorrow created its holistic program, designed to meet the needs of these youth on multiple levels. Educate Tomorrow was established as a 501 (c) (3) organization in 2003. Educate Tomorrow was the first community organization in Miami-Dade County specifically to serve transitioning foster youth and has proven academic mentoring services since 2003.
