Mission Statement

FAVIA225 is a non-profit group formed to host the 225th anniversary celebration of the First Air Voyage in America in conjunction with the Balloon Federation of America national convention in Philadelphia from March 22-25, 2018. We will be commemorating the 225th anniversary of flight in America though educational, historic, and networking activities. Students, families, and faculty will learn about local history, the start of aviation in North America, and have an opportunity to demonstrate their drawing and language arts schools by participating in our FAVIA225 art and essay contests in the public and private schools in the Philadelphia area. Youth aged 13-18 will have an opportunity to participate in our Future Fliers Program.
