AMHPS, established in 1976, is a nonprofit, educational, scientific and charitable 501 (c) (3 ) organization. AMHPS' mission is to strengthen its member institutions and programs; and promote and facilitate the representation of people of color in the health professions and biomedical sciences, thereby contributing to the improvement of the health status of African Americans, other minorities and the underserved.
