Children’s Law Center fights to ensure every child in DC grows up with a safe family, good health and quality education. Judges, pediatricians and families turn to us to advocate for children who are abused or neglected, who are not learning in school or who have health problems that cannot be solved by medicine alone. And, we multiply our direct impact by advocating for city-wide solutions. Based on our decades of experience serving the District’s most vulnerable children, we have identified that the lack of accessible, timely and quality mental health support is the greatest barrier to success for the children we serve. We have made improving children’s access to mental health supports a key part of our strategic plan and a top priority across our programs.
