MIAMI HOMES FOR ALL INC
Mission Statement
Miami Homes For All’s mission is to ensure that all Miami-Dade residents have a safe, affordable place to call home. We are especially concerned with households earning 80% of area median income or less. Nearly all of those pay more than they can afford for housing. Also, the shortage of units for those households is 5 times the shortage for those earning over 80% of area median income. We are currently conducting a series of focus groups with youth and young adults who have experienced homelessness. These sessions are essential for gathering direct feedback about the barriers they face in accessing housing, education, and employment. The insights gathered will directly inform how Miami-Dade County utilizes federal HUD funding for youth homelessness initiatives. Recruiting youth for these focus groups presents unique challenges. Many participants are transient, lack consistent communication access, and may hesitate to engage due to prior trauma or instability. Offering a small incentive not only honors their time and experience but also builds trust and encourages meaningful participation.
