Mission Statement
Established in 2004, Bay Area Derby (BAD) is a full contact, women’s flat track roller derby league located in the San Francisco Bay Area. BAD is a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the official governing body for modern roller derby, and is a non-profit 501(c)(3), fully volunteer-driven, skater-owned-and operated organization that gives back to the community that has supported it since 2004. BAD consists of two home teams (San Francisco Rolling Dead and Oakland Outlaws), one competitive travel team (Bay Area All-Stars, who played in the WFTDA Championships in 2019), two teams with the California Derby Galaxy (Bad Blood and Bad Bones), a BAD Juniors League (BAD Seeds), skating and non-skating officials, and many dedicated volunteers.
