Mission Statement

Student loan debt is a serious and growing problem in the United States, reaching an all-time high of one-trillion dollars. According to the Project on Student Loan Debt, an estimated 67% of college students will graduate with student loan debt. According to the American Federation for Teachers, 1.4 million students will graduate with an average debt of $23,200. Those aspiring to go into the filed of education can expect an average starting salary of around $26,639, which amounts to approximately $2,219 a month (before taxes). As a result, educators are faced with the dilemma of caring for their families and balancing the cost of high student loan payments each month. As teacher pay continues to slip behind other professions, the cost of student loan debt dramatically increases, even surpassing credit card debt. The purpose of United Educators' Fund is to assist educators by awarding scholarships to help reduce a portion of their individual student loan debt. Funding for scholarships will be awarded through donations from private and public donors. United Educators' Fund hopes to allow educators to focus on what they love the most, which is educating children. Our overall mission is to support and acknowledge the dedicated service of educators through scholarship.
