BOOTHBAY V E T S INC
Mission Statement
Our Mission is to provide short-term, mobile shelters for homeless Veterans who do not have immediate access to shelter. We partner with Maine Bureau of Veterans Services (MBVS) to identify current needs. (MBVS) has determined that each night, in the State of Maine, there are at least 130 homeless Veterans. Boothbay Veterans Emergency Temporary Shelter (V. E. T. S.) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that concentrates on getting homeless Veterans off the cold hard ground and into a soft warm heated bed. We do not turn away any veteran in need of shelter. We work with the Veterans Administration Benefits and Health Care services to provide needed support. Boothbay V. E. T. S. is committed to working with Maine Bureau of Veterans Service and end homelessness among Veterans. Our focus is: *Conducting coordinated outreach to proactively seek out Veterans in need of assistance. *Connecting homeless and at-risk Veterans with housing solutions, health care, community employment services and other required support. *Collaborating with federal, state and local agencies; employers; housing providers, faith-based and community nonprofits; and others to expand employment and affordable housing options for Veterans experiencing homelessness. No Veteran Should Be Without a Place to sleep.
