Mission Statement
We strive to redefine the in-transitioning service member’s encounter with car repair at G. I. Garage, by repurposing a favorite American pastime — via pro bono auto repair for veterans — as a means to cultivate hope, boost morale, target the healing of PTSD/TBI, and instill resilience. We offer a compassionate circle of support, helping them to work together as a community to navigate life situations unique to veterans. At G.I. Garage, we create an environment as a sanctuary for veterans to gather, share, and connect to build friendship and unity. From this core value, we are dedicated to building a community of understanding, compassion, and encouragement as veterans transition from military to civilian life and beyond. We provide comprehensive understanding of the veteran experience, a network for transitioning veterans, and resources to help them create meaningful connections with our community. We are determined to ensure that no more veterans will face the challenges of transition alone. We affirm the collective power of unity over the divisive force of individuality. At G. I. Garage, we’re proud to support our service members and veterans so they can achieve their fullest potential in their post-military lives, contribute valuable skills and life experiences towards the reputation, success, and prosperity of our community.
