To teach modern selection, raising, and showing techniques if beef, sheep, and swine. To promote and understanding of the beef, sheep, and swine industry in youth and provide healthy competition that promotes life skills such as sportsmanship, proper decision making and responsibility with "hands on" approach of learning by doing. Implementing food safety and quality assurance by requiring good record keeping, proper handling of livestock feeds and additives, and the proper use of animal health products.
