Mission Statement
The Neighborhood Nursery School is a non-profit parent cooperative preschool in Silver Lake that has been serving Los Angeles families for more than 70 years. Established in 1952, NNS provides a stimulating and formative preschool experience with a curriculum based on the interests, needs, and abilities of children aged three to five. Parents are active and essential partners with our certified teachers in running the school, working as teaching assistants as well as maintaining the buildings and grounds and organizing fundraisers, including the annual Spring Fair, which has become Silver Lake community traditions. The Neighborhood Nursery School is licensed by the Department of Social Services of the State of California, and we are members of the Los Angeles Council of Parent Participatory Nursery Schools and the California Council of Parent Participatory Nursery Schools.
