WHO IS ABOUT PRODUCTIONS? About…Productions is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit arts organization with a 25-year history of creating socially engaged theater and arts education programs that center equity, youth voice, and community storytelling. The organization works primarily with low-income, highest-risk, and educationally underrepresented public high school students, most of whom are Latino, across Los Angeles and Pasadena. Through long-term partnerships with public schools, teaching artists, and community leaders, About…Productions uses theater as a tool for literacy development, civic engagement, leadership building, and cultural preservation, ensuring that young people who are often excluded from arts access are seen, heard, and supported. About…Productions designs and delivers immersive, in-school theater residencies and public performances that integrate creative expression with academic, social, and workforce-aligned skill development. By combining project-based learning, intergenerational storytelling, and professional artistic mentorship, the organization helps students strengthen literacy, communication, collaboration, confidence, and civic awareness. Its programs culminate in public performances that amplify youth voices, honor community histories, and foster dialogue among students, educators, families, and the broader community, creating lasting educational and social impact both inside and outside the classroom.
